About Vita

Built by operators.
Not consultants.

For years we looked for an external technology partner that could keep pace with our ambitious organisations, and one that could flex its approach and pricing to what we actually needed. We rarely found it. The choice was usually one hire and a lot of hope, or a large consultancy working at its own pace, on its own terms. We created Vita to do it differently.

BUILT DIFFERENTLY

A better model for technology delivery.

01.
Operator-led

Work with people who have led technology from inside complex organisations and understand the realities of delivery.

02.
Small by design

Senior, focused teams stay close to the problem, make decisions quickly and avoid unnecessary delivery layers.

03.
A network, not a headcount

A senior core team, backed by specialist partners we've worked with before, so you get the right expert without paying for a bench.

04.
Rigorous where it matters

Move faster without sacrificing the evidence, traceability and quality that responsible technology demands.

The Founder

Neil Doyle

Founder and Managing Director

Portrait of Neil Doyle, founder and managing director of VitaBuild.

I spent the best part of fifteen years as the person trying to solve this problem from the inside. Every time a significant technology challenge landed on my desk, the same question followed: do we have the right capability to deal with this, and if not, where do I find it? The honest answer was almost always no, and the options never quite fit.

Most of those years were in healthcare, life sciences, and pharmaceuticals: highly regulated industries where the cost of getting technology wrong is measured in patient safety, not just downtime. That is where I built a deep grounding in the regulatory and quality management of software, because the risk of failure was high and building safe, responsible products mattered.

I have always respected why that rigour exists. Software in these settings has to be validated, evidenced, and traceable, and the testing has to be thorough. What I came to believe, and still believe, is that the methodologies organisations adopted to maintain that quality had become the problem. They were document-heavy and inefficient, and they often held teams back from building the highest-quality software, rather than helping them. The process was protecting itself more than it was protecting the patient.

The latest tools make it possible to keep the rigour the regulated world rightly demands while stripping out the barriers that never added quality in the first place. You can focus on what actually matters when you build software, and still meet the standard. That is the methodology we now build around.

When I had the chance to build something myself, that is exactly what I set out to create. Not a consulting firm in the traditional sense. Something closer to the partner I always wished existed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions we're often asked

If yours isn't here, bring it to a free working session.

How quickly can you start?

arrow pointing right

Usually within two weeks for a prototyping or AI opportunity mapping sprint, and straight away for fractional leadership. Larger builds depend on scope, and we'll agree a start date as part of planning. The quickest way to find out is to book a free working session.

Why a free working session rather than a sales call?

arrow pointing right

When we were the customer, we never wanted our time wasted, and we don't want to waste yours. So instead of a get-to-know-you call, we spend the hour working on your problem. Whether or not you go on to work with us, you should come away with something useful and a real feel for what it's like to work with Vita Technologies. We find that's better evidence of what we can do than anything we could tell you.

What kind of AI projects can you support?

arrow pointing right

Anything from rolling out and training your people on everyday AI tools across the business, through to AI products and processes built specifically around your company's outcomes. Most organisations need a bit of both, and we can help you work out where to start.

Which AI products can you help us with?

arrow pointing right

We specialise in Claude. We're part of Anthropic's partner network and hold the latest Claude certifications, so we know the platform in depth, from everyday use through to building with it. We also work with ChatGPT and Codex from OpenAI and with Microsoft Copilot, and we'll always recommend what's right for your business.

What happens after the prototype?

arrow pointing right

You keep everything the sprint produced: the prototype, requirements, user stories, high-level design, plan and business case. Many clients then ask us to take it through into a full build; some take it to their own team. Either is fine.

Isn't AI-built software just vibe coding?

arrow pointing right

We use vibe coding tools where they're at their best: creating prototypes quickly, with you. Production is different. There we use a mature, controlled agentic coding framework with automated testing, quality management and senior review, so what you get is software you can rely on.

Can you build software that needs to be validated?

arrow pointing right

Yes. We've delivered systems under ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and GxP, and we build the evidence and traceability in as we go rather than bolting them on at the end.

Do you only work in life sciences?

arrow pointing right

No. Regulated healthcare and life sciences is where our experience runs deepest, but we work with ambitious businesses in sport, media, recruitment, professional services and beyond. The rigour travels well.
